Paralysis by Analysis
Deciding on a new appliance.UAKC can help you make the right decision.Recently, I wanted to buy an additional monitor for my office computer setup. I shopped around, and knew the prices, features, and sizes that would work for me. Yet, I agonized endlessly over this model or that, and I just couldn't decide. Suddenly, it struck me that I spent less time deciding over a new car that costs tens of thousands than over an inexpensive electronic device that cost only a few hundred dollars. Why was I spending all this time debating back and forth over something that cost so little? This is called paralysis by analysis. To one degree or another, we all have it. If you need a new refrigerator, a washer and dryer, or even an entire suite of kitchen appliances, you don't want to make a mistake....but, you also don't want to needlessly deny yourself these new appliances just because of your paralysis by analysis syndrome. Here's a suggestion: Call or visit Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center. I've know these folks for a long time (long before I began writing these blogs). They won't waste your time. They are very knowledgeable. Tell them what your situation is, and in no time at all they'll make a few recommendations. They'll try to match your requests for brand, quality level, pricing, etc. with the best overall choices that fit your needs. With their large selection of brands, and great pricing you really won't need to be shopping around. You can -

Unique Gas Ranges
Unusual Range Configurations Most ranges from different manufacturers seem very similar when it comes to the basics. Oven on the bottom - burners on top. Some have more than one oven, some have more burners than others, and perhaps a griddle or a grill, but beyond that, not many striking differences. Well, here are a few ranges that are dramatically different - and you can see it right away. These are specific ranges have unique features for chefs who have specific interests or requirements. Take a look. Step-up Freestanding Ranges from American RangeWonder why all the burners on your range are on the same level? Maybe you've seen restaurants where food is being cooked in what seems to be different cooking heights. American Range has created a "Step-up" range with burners on different levels. When using multiple pots and pans simultaneously, handles become obtrusive and annoying. For this reason, many chefs have requested that burners be lifted to broaden the cooking surface and prevent handles from one pan heating the handles of another. In response, American Range has created the Step-Up Range line. Griddle Broiler on Top from BlueStar The professional-style raised griddle broiler allows for broiling and grilling simultaneously. This unique feature provides a full-size 12-inch griddle with a 600 degree maximum heating capacity. Perfect for last minute crisping, searing, or melting. It is powered by a 15,000btu radiant gas fired burner, capable of producing seared, crisp steaks in minutes! Home Salamander Broiler -

What's Your Appliance Style?
Choose Your Appliance Style UAKC has appliances for all styles Everybody has a style. In home exteriors some folks like Colonial, while others like Ranch Style, and yet others prefer Craftsmen style homes. That's just the beginning. Think of Georgian, Queen Anne, Greek Revival, Modern, Cottage style, etc. Similarly their are interior design styles. So, it should come as no surprise that appliances are also available in different styles. Whatever your preference, Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC), has the appliances to fit your style and your budget. Here are some of your options. If we categorize appliances by color alone, we'd miss the largest of all appliance categories which is not a color at all, but a finish - Stainless Steel. However, more than just a color or a finish, is the overall "look" or style of appliances. For example, while stainless steel is a finish, there are stainless steel appliances that have big bulky knobs and large dowel type handles, that have an industrial or restaurant feel. These appliances are usually referred to as Professional Style appliances. On the other hand, there are appliances that have a very sleek, minimalist look. They are often flush with the surrounding cabinets. This look is very popular in luxury European kitchens, so lets call these appliances Euro-Style. There is also a recent trend towards appliances that are built with a Retro-Style. These appliances may be designed to replicate the appliances of old, or -

Appliance Colors for 2014
Alternatives to Stainless Steel Choosing Appliance Colors at UAKC Pantone has chosen Radiant Orchid as the color of the year for 2014. If nothing else, this color is sure to be a conversation starter. In major appliances, Stainless Steel continues to reign supreme, though stainless steel has not been without its challengers. A few years ago, Jenn-Air introduced Oiled Bronze appliances as a designer finish, but while it attracted a lot of attention, few sales followed. Viking has had an extensive array of colors available in it's appliance line, now pared down to about a dozen favorites. Taking a more conservative approach, Wolf has elected to add a black glass look to its oven lineup, and the German brand Miele has added Brilliant White Plus to its sleek European kitchen aesthetic.GE recently introduced a line of appliances in Slate, as a less expensive alternative to Stainless Steel, and Whirlpool is touting its Ice Collection - shiny white or black with stainless accents. BlueStar ranges offer over 750 color and finish combinations (see Radiant Orchid below), while Italian brand, Bertazzoni also has jumped on the color bandwagon. Several other European brands are also available in various colors. They include SMEG, La Cornue, and AGA.Designers have been adding touches of color to monochromatic kitchens for interest and contrast. Maybe, a few colorful appliances will help brighten your kitchen. For expert help selecting colorful or not -
