New GE Refrigerators
Practical Innovation from GE Appliances
We love to write about innovation in appliances, but somtimes we’re pointing out exciting new features on brands that are really made for only the top 5% of appliance buyers. Today, we’re pleased to write about some innovations on one of America’s heritage appliance brands – General Electric. GE is offering new refrigerators with dispensers that operate hands free. In addition, GE has a refrigerator with a dispenser that heats the water. And coming this fall, GE will be launching a Keurig-equipped dispenser that allows you to get your favorite hot drinks right from the fridge. Read below to find out more about these innovative appliances.
GE Refrigerators With Hands-Free Water Dispensers
Water and ice dispensers are common features on refrigerators, but nearly every water dispenser operates with a button to engage and disengage water flow; overfilling a glass due to human error is inevitable. Technology by GE removes the possibility of a mistake. When a glass, cup, or water bottle is placed on the dispenser tray, sensors monitor the fill rate as water dispenses; no button operation is required to start or stop water flow. GE offers two French door refrigerators with Hands-Free dispensers. Model PYE22PSHSS is a counter-depth refrigerator and model PFE28RSHSS is a full-depth refrigerator. Both units cost about 3,000 dollars.
