Guideline for New Kitchen Appliances
Preferences, Necessities, and BudgetThere is lots of online advice on choosing new kitchen appliances. But honestly, this can be a difficult process. Some will say, "Start with your budget." Makes sense, doesn"t it? But if you haven't purchased appliances in years, and don't know for sure what you're going to need or what things cost, it's like trying to hit a bullseye wearing a blindfold! On the other hand, just going out blindly looking for appliances seems rather foolish also. You don't know what you don't know, so where do you start? Here is how you might proceed. What is your current status? Building new, remodeling, or just a straightforward appliance update. Make a tentative timeline from now to completion. Eventually, you're going to need a hard schedule. Get started now. Think of the end state. How do you picture your new kitchen in your mind? It's totally OK to to dream a bit. Close your eyes and think of what you hope your new kitchen will look like. Check your favorite home magazines, and clip photos of what you like! My favorite online site for new kitchen ideas is Houzz. Think about a budget. Whether it's $10,000 for a built-in refrigerator, or for all your kitchen appliances, you're going to need to start with a number. Here are the basic product categories you're likely to consider. The categories are necessities. Make sure you get the features that are important to you, eg. refer icemaker and dispenser, self-cleaning oven, quiet dishwasher -

Faucets for your Kitchen and Bath
Brizo Technology FaucetsBeauty meets TechnologyAt Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center One look at the Brizo line of faucets and you know that beauty is their hallmark. But don't let the style fool you. It's more than just a pretty faucet. Brizo's technology is second to none. Just read what Brizo has to say about three important technological advantages they offer - Magnedock®, SmartTouch®, and DIAMOND™ Seal Technologies:Magnedock® TechnologyThe first technology of its kind available, MagneDock features a patented, state-of-the-art magnetic docking system. This system securely holds the spray wand in place when not in use. The durable magnets are made to last forever, while their polarity keeps the spray head perfectly aligned, for a clean, seamless look that maintains the faucet’s distinctive form.SmartTouch® TechnologyThe SmartTouch® Technology touch faucet does nothing less than change the way you interact with water. Simply touch anywhere on the faucet body or handle to turn on or off the water. When you tap the faucet ON, the LED light indicates SmartTouch is active. When you tap the faucet OFF, the light goes off. SmartTouch also works to conserve water by activating flow only when needed, while its flexible operation promotes safe food handling.DIAMOND™ Seal TechnologyOur DIAMOND™ Seal Technology uses a diamond-coated ceramic disc with an extremely smooth, hard and durable diamond coating that eliminates the need for lubricant. There’s nothing to wash away and no sticking—the faucet will operate as smoothly after 20 years as it did on Day One. -

Manufacturers often show new products to get opinions and recommendations from industry veterans. The shows also provide an annual opportunity for customers to meet with suppliers, discuss concerns, and plan the year ahead. Just to give you an idea, induction cooking has been previewed at these shows for at least 10-15 years. Now, it is finally a reality with nearly all cooking product manufacturers offering some induction cooktops and/or ranges. Similarly, various speed cooking products have been shown over the years with mixed success. Both GE and Whirlpool have versions (Advantium and Velos) on the market now, but Thermador's Jet Impingement system shown in the early 2000's never launched. What will we see this year?
