Good Advice for Buying a New Washer and Dryer
There are a lot of washers and dryers sold during 4th of July Holiday period. Unfortunately, customers rushing to buy the lowest price or the biggest discount often get products that don't suit their needs. Advertised specials are very tempting, but you shouldn't have to settle for a product that's too noisy or doesn't have the cycles you need to do the job.
Here's a quote from a customer who bought a really low end washing machine from a home improvement store. “This is not a washer you can start and walk away from to do other things…. I hate this machine with the passion of 1000 white hot suns. I would go on, but it is laundry day and I have to go back downstairs to babysit the washer.” Don't let this happen to you. Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC) can help you make the best choice that suits your needs at the lowest possible price. UAKC sells all the major laundry brands – Frigidaire, GE, LG, Maytag, Samsung, Whirlpool, and more.
Here is a recommendation. Take some time to assess your needs. A new washer will likely fall into one of three categories:
-
Front load washer. These washers open and close from the front. They're energy efficient and use very little water. A full-sized version will cost more than the traditional agitator type washer that Mom used to have.
-
Top load high efficiency (HE) washer. Like the front load models, a high efficiency top load washer will use very little water and, as its name suggests, it will be energy efficient. Expect to pay more for an HE top load model than an agitator type washer.
-
Top load agitator-type washer. This is the traditional washing machine with a top opening lid and a high agitator post in the center of the tub. They're not as popular as they once were because they use so much water and cost so much to operate. They're also not as gentle on your clothes as front load or HE top load washers. However, they are the least expensive of the three washer types.
Decide which washer configuration you want, then contact the experts at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center for the best price and availability.
