UNIVERSAL APPLIANCE AND KITCHEN CENTER AND WOODLAND HILLS, CA

Woodland Hills, CA borders the Santa Monica Mountains in the San Fernando Valley. This area is prone to the most extreme temperature swings in Southern California. Over the last decade, the area recorded the highest temperatures in Los Angeles County at 119º, while the overnight winter temperatures were in the 20s.

Like much of the surrounding area, the area was inhabited originally by Native American tribes, but Woodland Hills was then discovered in the 18th Century by Europeans and ownership by Americas began in the 1860s. Isaac Lankershim purchased 2,886 acres under the name Victor Girard Kleinberger and founded the community of Girard in 1922. This town was incorporated into Los Angeles and became Woodland Hills in 1945. 

Today, Woodland Hills has numerous schools, public libraries and the 19 acre park with a baseball diamond, football fields, tennis courts, playing fields and an outdoor seasonal swimming pool.
