UNIVERSAL APPLIANCE AND KITCHEN CENTER AND WEST HILLS, CA

The residential neighborhood of West Hills is in the west San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. The present day neighborhood was home to the Chumash-Venturano and Tongva-Fernandeno Native American tribes. The Native American civilizations are thought to have inhabited the area for 8,000 years, and the West Hills area was a trading and meeting point.

From 1797 to 1846, the future West Hills area was part of the Mission San Fernando. After Mexico won independence, a separate land grant was issued by Governor Pio Pico encompassing the land in the present day West Hills.  

Today, there are many city parks and historical landmarks to be found within the West Hills community. West Hills also has commercial districts, religious establishments, and a business district. There are also two private schools among the numerous schools in West Hills to service the growing population of more than 38,000 residents.
