UNIVERSAL APPLIANCE AND KITCHEN CENTER AND SAN MARINO, CA

The City of San Marino is in Los Angeles County, CA and takes its name from the Republic of San Marino. The republic was founded by Saint Marinus who took refuge in Italy after fleeing his home in Dalmatia or what is now known as Croatia. Saint Marinus founded a monastic community in 301 A.D, and the state that grew from this monastery is the oldest surviving republic in the world.

The seal for the City of San Marino, CA is modeled on the republic and shows the Three Towers of San Marino with each capped with a bronze plume and surrounded by a heart shaped scroll. The crown that represented the monarchy on the original has been replaced by five stars to represent the five members of the governing body of the City. 

The City was incorporated in 1913 and celebrated its centennial in April 2013. Today, San Marino has a median home price of approximately $2.4 million, making it one of the most exclusive and expensive communities in the U.S.
