Lake Balboa

UNIVERSAL APPLIANCE AND KITCHEN CENTER AND LAKE BALBOA, CA

Lake Balboa is in the San Fernando Valley Region of Los Angeles. The official recognition of the community of Lake Balboa was highly debated. The city of Los Angeles adopted a formal naming process for the community in 2006, which had other implications for many other communities in Los Angeles created prior to January 2006.

According to the 2000 U.S census there are 24,328 residents in the Lake Balboa neighborhood. This equates to 7,754 people for each of the square miles in the 3.13 square mile area.

Lake Balboa is also home to the Anthony C. Beilenson Park. This 80 acre recreation facility has a centerpiece of the 27 acre Lake Balboa. The park has a cascade, play areas, barbecue pits, bike paths, jogging paths and a fishing lake. There is also a Japanese Garden, Woodley Park and the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area in the Lake Balboa area.
