The city of La Canada Flintridge is in Los Angeles County with a population of over 20,000 and a history dating back to the Spanish and Mexican eras. The area was once known as Rancho La Canada, and before the incorporation of the city in 1976, it was two distinct communities of La Canada and Flintridge.

Canada is derived from the Spanish word meaning canyon, while Flintridge is taken from the name of the developer Frank P. Flint. Today, the city is often shortened to La Canada rather than the full city name, and it is ranked as the 121st most expensive city in the U.S according to Forbes.

La Canada Flintridge is home to botanic gardens, parks, and Descanso Gardens. The NASA Jet Propulsion Lab is also located in La Canada Flintridge, but it has a mailing address in Pasadena. The $60 million La Canada Town Center is also a local highlight with flagship stores, eateries, and retailers at the intersection of Angeles Crest Highway and Foothill Boulevard.
