A big shout out to Ryan McElroy of Universal Appliance who went above and beyond to help us get a new fridge and make sure the installation went as smoothly as possible.

After spending hours on the phone (and FaceTime) to ensure our measurements were accurate and that a replacement fridge would fit our space, he even showed up to our installation when it became apparent that our interior doorframes were going to be an issue for the installers to navigate. His professionalism, problem solving and attention to detail is bar none.

Can’t express enough how thrilled we were to work with Ryan and we look forward to working with him again when we need to replace our other kitchen appliances.

Ryan was an absolute MVP! My husband and I were in the market for a new double oven and we spoke to the right person at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center Calabasas. From the moment we met him he listened to everything we mentioned and kindly guided us in the direction of ovens that would fit our needs and at no point did we ever feel any sales pressure. He knew so much about each appliance and even looked into the super techy small things I asked about and found the answers. He is super thorough and found us a great deal on our new oven.  We’re already looking into our next item which is a new cooktop stove or dishwasher.  Either one, Ryan will be our guy to follow up with. We had great experience and one we hope others will have too!

This five star review is for Ryan McElroy who spent a great deal of time with us to come up with a solution to a complex problem. We had a built-in fridge that died and needed a replacement that would fit like a glove.. no easy feat given how appliance specs change year-to-year, plus the model we had previously was on back-order and the quality had taken a down-turn as well.

Ryan went above and beyond in helping us find something that would work. He meticulously took every step to ensure that what he was selling us was not only going to fit our needs today, and that it was also high-quality fridge that would last 20+ years… but equally important, that it would fit in the space we have. (They are going to do a pre-inspection of the space before they deliver too!) Honorable mentions go to Darren Zellner and Jessie Dominguez who pitched in to get us over the finish line too. Talk about great customer service!!!

The Short: First time purchasing from Universal, but 3rd appliance purchase with Ryan McElroy. Zero hassles, great price and the delivery/installation on our new refrigerator and removal of the old went smooth as well. My wife told me how nice the delivery people were even with our 7 month dog running amok during the install.

The Long: This is more to speak of Ryan, a salesperson at Universal. Call and ask for him and you won’t be disappointed. Or do some research online / check a big box store that is close by, but call Universal and ask for Ryan. I’ve actually never met him in person but can’t recommend him enough.

We were originally given Ryan’s number by our contractor when he was with a big box store five years ago and purchased a range and hood. Two years later we purchased a dishwasher through him. We had been waiting for Black Friday deals to replace our refrigerator and when I called him about a new fridge, he helped with selecting one that had the features we wanted. Another big box store is close by so we checked some out in person there.

When ready to move forward with the fridge purchase, Ryan said he was now with Universal and said the gift card offered during the big box store’s Black Friday sale was a great deal and he couldn’t beat it as a cash price. This is AFTER helping us and knowing of the sales being offered by the BBS. That is a quality in a salesperson you don’t see often. It’s not like we are family friends either; I’ve only emailed/texted/phoned and looked at appliances in person at places closer to us.

Universal could match the cash price of a different big box store and since we weren’t looking for gift cards, we went with Universal. Delivery and installation fees were reasonable and the extended warranty was actually cheaper than the BBS. I originally declined the extended warranty with no pressure to buy, but my wife ended up wanting it so we had the quote amended.

Time from purchase to delivery was quick, they gave a window but also called 1 hr ahead of time so we could still go to work and come home when it was time. The 1 hr heads up was accurate, and the removal of the old/install of the new was easy (according to my wife). Our next appliance upgrade will be a washer and dryer maybe 2-3 years down the road. I’ll gladly go with Universal if Ryan is still there.

Outstanding value and customer service experience during our kitchen and two bathroom remodel. Alex Delgado and his staff spent about two hours helping us with appliance and plumbing fixtures for our extensive remodel project. The showroom was great allowing us to do side by side comparisons on all of our selections. Definitely a five-star experience all around.

We bought a full high end (Sub Zero, Thermador…) Kitchen set from Stacey Bostek at UAKC a year ago.
1. She was fantastic and professional, and an expert – Stacey listened to us, was happy to support us, but also steered us towards better options (not more expensive, just better) for our needs.
2. The pricing was great. It was expensive, but cheaper than the “deal” our GC could offer through their big box relationships. Very fair deal overall.
3. SERVICE. Both on installation setup, but also a year later as we are doing another remodel, Stacey has given immediate support and follow up, even though we have not been spending an additional dollar.

She is the best, and honestly the rest of the staff at UAKC have been super as well. We don’t write many reviews, but this one is long overdue.

We used Alex at Universal Appliance to help us pick out a new cooktop, microwave and double ovens. Alex was great to work with. He took us to the Thermador showroom to help us decide on an induction cooktop. This was very helpful. We are new to induction, so required a LOT of information. Alex was very patient. It was so nice to have someone to help us (which is rare nowadays when shopping for appliances).

They were also very flexible with the delivery of the appliances. Overall. We have had a very positive experience with Universal Appliance and would not hesitate to recommend them.

We had a great experience with Universal Appliance & Kitchens. Alex is very professional, helpful, and always responds to calls or texts in a timely manner. Alex is knowledgeable about a variety of appliances and helped to answer my detailed questions. We ended up purchasing a full set of Thermador kitchen appliances and GE washer/dryer for our laundry room. Alex looked into the specs for me to be sure that we chose the right stove hood for our space. He provided a complete list of specs for me to pass on to our contractor as well. Alex was also very patient with us when we had construction delays and had to reschedule our delivery and installation. The delivery and installation crew was professional, detailed, and were extremely careful with our new appliances and wood floors. I highly recommend talking to Alex and going with Universal Appliance and Kitchen!

My wife had the best experience purchasing our appliances and plumbing fixtures from Universal. Alex is one of the most knowledgeable, responsive and genuine salespersons she has ever encountered. We had a major flood at our house and so had to do a complete remodel in a very short time. Alex walked her thru every step and gave her many options. She is the type that usually researches every purchase to death before deciding but with Alex’s help she felt at ease and comfortable trusting his expertise. Gene was also amazing in his customer service with some of our plumbing needs. She never felt pressured to buy anything at Universal and was shown many quality appliances from high end to some more affordable options. Their whole operation is top notch!

Thanks to Max Forutan at Universal Appliance Calabasas our purchase of a Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer drawer set went very smoothly. The installation went great as well. When we had any questions, Max was very helpful. If we need any more appliances down the road, we will definitely work with him and Universal Appliance Calabasas.

I purchased all of my appliances for my condo remodel at Universal Appliance. Shawnie was my dedicated salesperson. There was an issue with the older model refrigerator that I had purchased at a discount. Universal Appliance replaced it with the most up-to-date model at the same price. It took a few months to get everything installed due to an issue with the refrigerator which was a manufacturing defect. Shawnie went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. If you’re in need of new appliances, I highly recommend Universal.

After going to several other stores and not being given the time of day, I was dreading the process of fixture and appliance shopping. I had a great experience with Michael in the faucet department and Moses in appliance. They walked me through everything and made the entire purchase process easy. It was my one stop shop for everything needed. I can’t thank them enough.

Customer experience was on point! When there are so many different places to choose from for home appliance shopping, the customer service and experience is what differentiates Universal Appliance from all the others. More specifically, Moses is a ROCK STAR. Moses is a problem solver and goes above and beyond to get me what I need, from choosing the right appliance, to scheduling a delivery and even rolling up his sleeves and helping me fix through an issue that wasn’t something he had to solve for. That type of service is hard to come by these days. Make sure to ask for Moses!

My wife and I visited the Universal Appliance and purchased a cooktop for a reasonable price. The process was fast and convenient. Ms. Magana recommended a model for us and explained all necessary details about the product. Everything was done smoothly and professionally. In a week, the product was delivered and installed. People from the Universal Appliance took care of the old cooktop (removed and took with them).

In couple of days we figured out that we need some help with our new appliance. We called Maida and asked for some additional adjustments to our new cooktop. She was very helpful and sensitive to our needs. Another unit was sent to us in a couple days to make the requested adjustments. And again, the process was fast and well organized. Thank the Universal Appliance (and Maida personally) for your professionalism, cooperation and willingness to understand and help.

I would 100% recommend to deal with the Universal Appliance (in general) and Maida Magana (specifically) for any of your appliances.

Had been dreading the prospect of having to buy a new microwave but I finally steeled myself and walked in to Universal Appliance’s Studio City store on Ventura Blvd + Laurel Canyon. A man named Movses Ambarthian stepped up to help me and he couldn’t have been nicer, smarter or more kind. Wow! Cannot recommend him or his store more highly. Extremely well-run operation. Thank you so much Universal Appliance Studio City!

MD Rayhn was the best salesperson I’ve worked with while remodeling my home. From answering my numerous phone calls, to staying past closing time showing products and comparing possibilities. He helped us leave with the best appliances and we couldn’t be happier and more excited for our home to come together. Thank you so much!

100% would recommend connecting with Movses for any of your appliances. Incredible customer service from day one. He is honest and will help you through the entire process whether it’s a laundry appliance or a kitchen appliance. They sell a lot more, but we only needed kitchen and laundry. It’s really hard to find great customer service these days, but Movses and Universal Appliance will not disappoint. The installers went above and beyond to help make everything as smooth and easy as possible. We had a couple of hiccups along the way on our end, nothing related to Universal Appliances but Movses and his team went above and beyond to help us figure out quick solutions.

This is one instance that I’m glad that for some reason I didn’t listen to the Yelp reviews and went ahead with these guys anyway. We were renovating our kitchen and our contractor suggested working with Dennis Pesikov at Universal. During our first visit, I totally forgot to make an appointment and we just showed up to their store. Unfortunately Dennis was tied up with another customer so we just walked around ourselves. I’ll be honest, their layout is nothing like Pirch and we got overwhelmed with everything in the store. We sorta wanted to just use Pirch instead after looking through half the store.

Surprisingly Dennis reached out to us apologising for missing us when it wasn’t even his fault. We were honest and told him that the store overwhelmed us so he suggested two options – if we didn’t mind heading back when we had time he’d walk around with us or if we knew what we wanted he could send us a quote. We ended up choosing the latter and this is where Dennis totally went above and beyond and blew our minds with his top notch customer service.

Price wise it was comparable everywhere since we were getting Wolf / Sub-zero appliances but unlike other stores (including Pirch) who had a year long waitlist, Dennis made it happen. Our renovation was supposed to be done by March which was when we’d need everything but we were told by other stores that usually Sub-Zero released their fridge in April each year, then you’d need to queue on the waitlist. The earliest we could expect our appliances would be end of October 2023 if we were lucky. For some miraculous way Dennis had inventory!! I have no idea how he managed to make it happen even when I wanted to customise everything and have both the fridge and freezer in random sizes.

The entire process from placing the first deposit all the way through to final installation was completely white glove and flawless. No delays nor issues thanks to Dennis having our back! He consistently makes himself accessible if we have any questions or need anything. Even when he’s traveling he gets his assistant to help us. No joke, I wish I had more appliances to buy. We love you Dennis!!!

I purchased my entire kitchen from Universal. Great service and delivered as promised. My sales rep is Moses. He’s very professional and hands on. My first experience included him checking out the place and recommending what my best options were.

Had a nice experience buying a new Viking stove. Plus a new dishwasher came with it for free. Oscar was very attentive and helped walk me through the whole process smoothly. I am very happy with my purchase.

I bought a Smeg fridge from Universal and couldn’t be happier! Oscar was so helpful in getting me my fridge sooner than a competitor. He was so nice and very communicative and made sure I was aware of the status of my delivery every step of the way. And the delivery was A+! I was so worried it would get damaged because my stairs are narrow and they had to unbox it in order for it to fit. The delivery guys took great care and didn’t put a scratch on it! I will certainly go back when it’s time to replace my stove!

FYI – if you are looking for Smeg appliances, not many places sell them so don’t hesitate to stop in and talk to Oscar! I just love my fridge!

We renovated our home during the worst time and faced many difficulties these past two years but… by far the best vendor we dealt with in the entire process were Dennis, Dyana, Alexis, and the rest of the team at Universal Appliances.

They helped us make our choices, they had the best pricing anywhere (I checked!), they accommodated the many delays on our project, and installation went perfectly. They accommodated special needs for our installation schedule, and they didn’t leave any boxes or anything behind for us to clean up.

We’re very happy to have bought all our kitchen appliances from Universal, and would happily recommend them to everyone else.

Dennis and his team at Universal were amazing …we were remodeling our new home during Covid time and were told over and over that everything …and I mean everything was back ordered or not available. This man moved mountains and got us an entire new kitchen plus wine fridge, beverage fridge and more …their prices are great but its the service you come back for. Great communication, friendly service and honestly just feeling like someone cares means the world. Look him up and know you are getting the best deal but also the best team …we had a warranty issue with one of our beverage fridges this month and they took care of us – the least expensive item on the entire ticket and they were right there to make sure it was taken care of.

I ordered all the appliances for our recent kitchen remodel from Universal Appliance in Costa Mesa. Alex Delgado was our appliance specialist.  Alex has  such an extensive knowledge of the various brands, he really helped me choose appliances that were right for me. Really, anyone can sell you an appliance, but the real test is what they do when things don’t go exactly as planned. Due to the recent nationwide supply chain issues we encountered a couple of “hiccups”, most notably our dishwasher didn’t want to show up. Alex, worked very hard to come up with acceptable solutions to get the appliances we wanted and delivered as soon as possible. He was always available to answer questions and help with decisions. Even texting or calling me if there was something important I should know. Also, he is just a very nice person to work with. Which went a long way during the “invisible dishwasher” episode. Thank you Alex and Universal Appliance.

Our kitchen remodel turned out beautiful and our appliances are amazing thanks to Alex Delgado’s knowledge and expertise of all brands.  He listened to our needs based on room configurations and led us to the perfect appliances and put together a package that gives all that we planned to buy plus a couple of extra goodies such as the Thermador coffee machine.  We could not be happier and even now when I contact Alex he knows me/my account and goes out of his way to get the answers I need.  Keep up the great job emphasizing customer service along with providing solid high-end appliances.

My Subzero refrigerator recently went out and I was desperate to find a new one before the holidays. I searched all over with no luck, until a designer friend referred me to Universal. The store manager, Jessie, helped me pick the perfect new refrigerator to meet my needs, and coordinated the delivery and install just in time for Christmas. Thanks to his help, my kitchen was back in working order in no time, and I was able to host Christmas dinner for my family.

We are in the process of remodeling our kitchen and we came in looking for new appliances.  We worked with Jessie, the store manager, who could not have been more helpful.  He was so knowledgeable about the appliances in the store, the different models, and asked us tons of questions to determine what we needed.  We never felt like we were being pushed into spending more – he really wanted to find the appliances that fit our needs.  We were able to find quality appliances at the right price point for our needs.  Although it was a bit of a drive for us, we are so happy that we found Universal Appliance.  We will gladly take a longer drive to a place where the manager truly cares about you and is knowledgeable about his products.  Highly recommend!

I recently completed my kitchen remodel and purchased my appliances from Universal. I had researched appliances for several months prior and selected Universal based on the recommendation of my interior designer. The store manager, Jessie, was extremely knowledgeable and helped me pick out the perfect appliances to meet my needs. The pricing was comparable with other retailers and the products were delivered and installed on-time to meet my construction schedule. Overall, I am extremely happy with my experience. Recently did a slight remodel in my home and bought LED bathroom mirrors (Electric Mirror) and the most beautiful freestanding bathtub/faucet (Hydro System & Newport Brass) from this showroom! The service was superb and my sales person was always available by call/text with updates on ETA or random questions I had. My sales person Fernando was very knowledgeable and I literally told him to recommend products he would put in his home and I went with all his suggestions and I couldn’t be happier with the end results:)

Due to delays because of supply (no fault of this business) and remodel delays, I finally have my appliances installed: Sub Zero fridge and freezer, Wolf range, Wolf microwave drawer, Cove Dishwasher and Sub Zero beverage fridge. Alex was very responsive every time I reached out for questions regarding delivery and other information I requested. He was always so nice and I always felt comfortable reaching out to him.
