New trend in appliances
New French-Door OvensFrench-Door ovens for the home have been in various stages of planning for the past 10 to 15 years. They've existed in commercial kitchens for some time, and features from commercial appliances often migrate to the home appliance category. So, it was no surprise to see Viking and GE Monogram introduce French-Door wall ovens last year.Among other high end specialty cooking brands both BlueStar and American Range have introduced French-Door wall ovens. Today, we're going to showcase the latest offering in this category: GE Café's new French-Door wall ovenWe've written about the GE Monogram French-Door wall oven before (New GE Monogram Oven). GE is now also introducing a French-Door wall oven in its Café appliance line. Here are the key features of the new GE Café French-Door wall oven:Self-Clean with Steam-Clean optionYou are probably used to having a self-clean oven so you may be surprised to learn that most of GE's competitors in this category do not offer a self-clean oven even at a much higher price than GE Café. On top of the self-clean feature you can save time and save energy by using GE's Steam Clean feature.True European Convection with Direct AirThere are different types of convection. Unique Gas Ranges
Unusual Range Configurations Most ranges from different manufacturers seem very similar when it comes to the basics. Oven on the bottom - burners on top. Some have more than one oven, some have more burners than others, and perhaps a griddle or a grill, but beyond that, not many striking differences. Well, here are a few ranges that are dramatically different - and you can see it right away. These are specific ranges have unique features for chefs who have specific interests or requirements. Take a look. Step-up Freestanding Ranges from American RangeWonder why all the burners on your range are on the same level? Maybe you've seen restaurants where food is being cooked in what seems to be different cooking heights. American Range has created a "Step-up" range with burners on different levels. When using multiple pots and pans simultaneously, handles become obtrusive and annoying. For this reason, many chefs have requested that burners be lifted to broaden the cooking surface and prevent handles from one pan heating the handles of another. In response, American Range has created the Step-Up Range line. Griddle Broiler on Top from BlueStar The professional-style raised griddle broiler allows for broiling and grilling simultaneously. This unique feature provides a full-size 12-inch griddle with a 600 degree maximum heating capacity. Perfect for last minute crisping, searing, or melting. It is powered by a 15,000btu radiant gas fired burner, capable of producing seared, crisp steaks in minutes! Home Salamander Broiler -

Steam Convection Ovens, French Door Ovens, and Built-In Coffee Makers
Three Luxury Appliance Trends for 2014 Available at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center The three biggest trends in luxury appliances in 2014 are Combination Steam Convection Ovens, French Door Ovens, and Built-In Coffee Makers. While all three are definitely trends in 2014, they've all been around for a while in one way or another. Steam Convection OvensCommercial steam convection ovens have been around for decades, but the combination steam convection oven for home use is more recent. KitchenAid introduced a full sized convection oven with steam assist about 15 years ago, which is still around today. However, the strong trend toward steam convection ovens began only a few years ago when European brands such as Thermador, Gaggenau, and Miele brought their versions of steam convection "combi" ovens to the U.S. It was "game on," and today Jenn-Air, Wolf, Bosch, Viking, and others have joined the fray with their versions of steam convection ovens. Typically, these ovens are designed to fit a 24" cabinet space (European 60 cm), but pack a lot of features and capabilities in the smaller oven cavity. Universal Appliance and Kitchen Centercarries a full array of convection ovens from all these brands French Door OvensJust like steam convection ovens, French door wall ovens have been around in restaurants and in commercial applications for decades. About 2002, Jade (then a division of Maytag) introduced a French door wall oven for home use. Subsequently, Jade became -
